The year that was...

12 days into the new year, still can't get 2005 out of my system. It was quite eventful and fulfilling. Nothing much happened on the professional front except for an increase in salary and new team members. Wait a sec, infact I don't have any old member left in my team. Shilpee got her 3rd promotion under me today. She is now officially a Process Trainer. All because of her dedication, hardwork and knowledge. To satisfy my ego, I would like to believe that I was instrumental in all her promotions (honest confession). Abhi, IG, Khanduri, Chets, Sandhya all gone and there are times when I miss them. Abhi came for the 31st roof top party. He has not changed a bit and I just wish he remains like that.

I got my first car (Santro Zing -XP, No: DL3CP1183, Color: Forest Due)on Mar 11, 2005. I will always remain indebted to Runu for his support and presence on that day.

I also became proud owner of a Zippo on Nov 28, 2005 imported from UK. Thank you Nishu. Don't worry I'll pay you.

Ma and Puchki were here on feb-mar. We went to Vaishno Devi, Agra and lots of other places. It was my 3rd trip to the cave and I was very satisfied that I am taking Ma there. Its still afresh in my memory how Ma cried and screamed when she was climbing on the horse's back. I laughed my heart out when I saw the snaps later.

For the first time in 5 years, Papa came to Delhi and was with me for a week. It was quite ackward initially but I think we were able to bridge the gap. The Dewali trip to Golden Temple cannot be described in words. Walking side by side in Amritsar I realized I have great admiration and love for this middle aged man and his importance in my life. Couple of weeks back I got the feedback from Ma that he enjoyed his stay and is looking forward to more such trips in future. I love you Papa.

Gagal got married on Nov 23, 2005. I still can't belive that he is married. First time I saw him I was in class 7 and he was the new guy in the class. I remember we became best buddies by class 9. Our friendship again boomed the day I landed in Delhi and saw him at the station waiting to hug me. Though there were differences but we are still best buddies. They say, friendship is like glass. Once broken can be fixed but it leaves a line. I agree, we are not as pally as we used to be in our teens, this is more mature where both of us understands the importance of "give and take".
